Lisa Czulinski ~ LMHC, NCC
I specialize in treating trauma but attend to a variety of concerns and offer teletherapy services in New York and Vermont.
My approach to counseling is integrative, meaning I blend interventions to fit each client's unique needs and pacing. Through a solution-focused mindset, I deliver up-to-date tools, out-of-session tasks, and psychoeducation that encourage healing, transformation, and empowerment. This way, individuals overcome obstacles by discovering, honoring, and accessing their inner wisdom and unique strengths.
Sessions take place in a nurturing, warm, creative, collaborative, and non-judgmental atmosphere that promotes autonomy by honoring a person-centered, multicultural, trauma-informed, and gender-fair framework. The therapeutic process can be remarkable, and often challenging, but with the opportunity to change the lenses of your inner and outer world, resulting in a more expansive life experience.

The therapeutic process is tailored to each client's unique needs by considering the historical and current biological, psychological, and social context in developing therapeutic goals.
The spectrum of anxiety and depression can hold us back from being our best selves. We will focus our work on understanding the root of your discomfort, define wellness as you see it, and practice skills to overcome what holds you back.
Counseling also promotes your clarity of purpose and identity, especially since life can be overwhelming, confusing, and unclear at times. Collaboratively, we can uncover what keeps you stuck or dissatisfied and move you closer to your purpose.
I specialize in trauma, but not solely focused on the concern within my practice.

I make every effort to support you in feeling welcome and safe during our counseling sessions.
There will be minimal note-taking within the initial session to obtain basic demographic information such as your history and a biopsychosocial to understand what brought you into counseling. You are welcome to ask any questions regarding the therapy process, and I will sporadically check in on your experience and needs.
During follow-up counseling sessions, we will collaboratively establish goals and choose the best modality for our work together.
I do not prescribe medication. However, if you are interested in psychopharmacology, I can refer you to a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner, or we can explore options with your primary care physician.
Sessions are 50 min (45min for A/W clients), and on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, depending on treatment progress. On occasion, I offer phone sessions if you have technical or accessibility difficulties, but not for long-term sessions.
-
I allow (1) no-show or late cancellation without a fee, then cancellations or no-shows with less than 48 hours notice will incur the full session fee.
Sessions are closed 10 minutes after the session begins unless the client offers notification. I like to encourage timeliness as the quality of the session often requires the full allotted time.
My goal is to provide quality care to all clients. I understand that life happens, but no-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only the provider but other clients as well.
